1 Digital Printing Design

2 Carefully select the substrate (paper)

Digital printing is not like offset printing; it usually cannot use the same kind of paper. In-di go E—The press requires pretreatment of the paper. Xeikon-based presses use web paper, not all paper rolls. It is important to remember that this type of paper must be able to hold a negative charge. A smooth, extremely valuable white paper is the best choice for digital printing. Since the glazing agent cannot be adhered or wiped off consistently, the recycled material can be prevented from being damaged, and the humidity can also destroy the reproduction of the color. Also, keep in mind that before the job runs, make sure that there is enough paper in the building for at least 24 hours.


3 positioning registration

We must always know the design and positioning unit, pay attention to the special machine's automatic duplex feature, and test the multiplex project to ensure acceptable results. The Xeikon press prints both sides at the same time, so that a good front-to-back positioning can be achieved. If you find bleeding, you need to use a larger size.

Digital printing cannot print dot colors (except for the 6-color version of Indigo). Using the PATONETM Spot-to-CMYK chart to find CMYK's equivalent colors, you can produce reasonable substitutes for many PANTONETM colors. 5 Observe the field and overprint

On the equipment based on color reproduction, large-area field printing is the most common problem. They may be due to changes in the charge on the paper surface and the charge itself. To a certain extent, the electrostatic charge on the surface of a sheet of paper has also changed, resulting in streaks and inconsistent colors on solid blocks, which will not occur in the updated system. Create noise in the field by using Photoshop or other software. Compared with old printing presses, this problem rarely occurs on new presses.


Conversely, if you want to get a large area of ​​black solid, use a thick black ink composed of a yellow, blue, blue, and blue ink. It is recommended to work with your supplier to find and find the best ratio of inks. Try tinting at 60C, 40M, 40Y, 100K or 40C, 20M, 20Y, 100K, using all four colors, not just the C ink used in offset printing.


Digital printing can be operated from 400 to 600 dots/in, by generating meshes to imitate the hue points. Since starting from a dot with fewer originals, the grid is limited in size by the selected tone line and the amount of available dots. 7 Choose the right software

Software such as Quark Xpress, Adobe, Indesign, Photoshop, FreeHand, and Illustrator are all slightly different in color, if the same color is used to generate images in Illustrator, FreeHand, and Photoshop, then import them to Pagemaker or Quark Xpress. In the process of transforming all artwork into the CMYK color space, the colors of the three units will not be simply matched, and if necessary, the color will be adjusted to the color balance. Avoiding text processing and RGB graphics like Microsoft Powerpoint, text processing tends to only take effect in the RGB color space. RIP will instantly need to convert RGB colors and may not give you the desired color.


8 Collect products

To ensure that all fonts and connected graphic files are included (and do not embed graphics by cutting and pasting) and save the file in the appropriate format, digital printing companies prefer to use the page to describe Type 1 fonts. 9 Immediate post-processing

Digital press products can create problems during the stapling phase, that is, problems such as curling of the paper or roughness of the paper particles. Luster, unlike ink, is present on the surface of the paper and cannot be absorbed. When folded, the polish is prone to breakage at the creases, so the printed design of the creases must be avoided, or use high light tones in the creased area or at least detect the particle size of the paper to reduce the degree of cracking. Special care must be taken or careful considerations should be taken to avoid overwriting part of the text and avoid over-tight registration, allowing a range of up to 1/8 in. If thick paper, graphic and creases must be ensured within the paper signatures, not the signatures, in order to reduce the cracking of paper and polish. Better performance printers can handle these conventional potential problems. .
